I just bought a 2006 Mini S,yesterday . Drove it home from Atlanta 2 hours, no problems with the steering, but when its sitting, and I turn the wheels bit,I hear a sound like its bindingfor lack of a better word. I have never had a car with a super charger, so I don't know what sounds I should be hearing. Fans motors? supercharger? PSP,or ? Any ideas

You are probably hearing the PS pump. They do tend to whine, even when in good shape.

Nick, thanks for the reply. My P.S.P REALLY is noisy. whenever i'm stopped it is very noticeable, and when I turn the wheel slightly , it grones, like when a traditional pull P.S. unit sounds when its low on fluid. My fluid levels seem to be fine. Between the lines. Another question, this couldn't be the steering rack could it? I don't see how it could produce that sound, as I think it has to do with the fluid. Or could the supply or return P.S.P lines be in any way suspect?
