I just was charged $370 for a new battery for my standard hard-top 2010 MINI by the dealership. The service representative explained that the cost was from using a factory battery and that the MINI required reprogramming after installation. Did I get ripped off or is this reasonable? The only reason I didn't got to Autozone was because the batter is encased in a panel that goes up to the windshield and around the wipes. I wasn't sure that they would be willing to take it off.

Depends region really and labor cost, etc. It sounds pretty close to normal. The battery can be well over $150 and then you need an hour or programming. Autozone would not be able to enter the battery registration data, unless they have an advanced MINI scan tool.
