HI,

It seems that the gargae which changed the oil on my 2003 Mini Cooper R50 over tightened the filter housing, and consequently when removing it the housing canister split. I have now ordered a replacement canister which is the newer type post 07/2004, however the fitment seems slightly different and it does not tighten to the bottom of the treads on the canister as the older style one did. Can you confirm if the new oil filter canisters are ok to fit on the older pre 07/2004 housing? Any help would be really appreacited! Thanks.

The later engine canisters should be fine, I recall them being a replacement. Going by memory though. Give our parts specialists a call at 1-888-280-7799. They can confirm it is right.
