Figure 13 - fuel pump with integrated fuel filter
In the article, Figure 13 says "This photo shows the left side fuel unit with the level sender and integrated fuel filter. To replace the fuel filter, you have to replace the entire unit." Earlier steps in the article identify the left side as holding the fuel pump.
The fuel pump for my R56 (2011 Mini Cooper S Hatchback, 11/2010 manufacture date) looks nothing like this, and it does not appear to have an integrated fuel filter. See photos in this post. What's the scoop? Is the pic in Figure 13 mislabeled? Am I correct that there is no integrated fuel filter? Or do some models in the list at the top of the article (my Mini is in that list) have it and some not? Last edited by cjv2; 08-22-2017 at 04:02 PM.. |

Go to the article itself: MINI Cooper R56 Fuel Filter Replacement (2007-2011) | Pelican Parts DIY Maintenance Article and copy/paste this comment with your photos in the comment box at the bottom. Nick will have some input and this should help anyone else that may run into this issue in the future.

Great! Nick should have some input for you.
I did do some digging into this for the UK R56 models that might give some insight as well. You can check out that thread here: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/bmw-mini/938668-fuel-filter-location-r56-uk.html, but we will see what Nick says. |
