2006 Mini Cooper s that was shorted out by a hanger sliding over the battery while driving "facepalm". Replaced the blown mega 200amp. Car starts. With a jump. Battery tested good. Tested car with new working battery. These Sames issues happen. Car starts gets jumping voltage at battery. Alternator smells like burning electronics we think. Battery light comes on. Coolant and gas gauges move randomly and rpm garage will stop. Warning lights will come and go. Abs, trac, service engine now, etc. power steering works off and on same for as. Waiting to get car towed home. And help would be great. Will pull codes with a scanner as soon as possible.

The alternator may be shorted. The tough thing about a short like this is you will have to work through each issue as you find them. Start with fault codes.
