I have a 2009 Mini Cooper s and it runs ok after warm start but cold start it takes a few times, sometimes there is codes sometimes not..it uses quite abit of oil as well but with no visible leaks. Is there any ideas?

Could be an issue with the fuel pump. I would perform a fuel delivery system test. Check fuel pressure, volume and quality.

Cold start issues could be a few things and a big one being a faulty HPFP. There is an extended warranty on them right now. Oil consumption isn't uncommon for MINI's unfortunately. You need to keep an eye on your oil level and keep up with 5,000 mile oil changes. Sometimes the check engine light comes on and then goes off? There will be a stored code that you need to pull by using an OBDII diagnostic scanner. Something like the AutoEnginuity that we use here. Otherwise, you could swing by an Autozone and have them pull the code for you. Let us know what you find out.
