Question, I have the 2005 3 spoke steering wheel and I was told that if I buy the 2009 steering wheel and air bag that they fit and will work...Any one know if this is true... as I have a 2009 air bag now and it wont fit the 2005 steering wheel but the guy who sold it says that if I change out the wheel itself it will work..my steering wheel is pretty worn

I have no info on that swap. Big difference in vehicle there, so I would assume not going to work.

From what I have seen the R56 wheels should fit the R53's, but as to regards to how I am unsure. Might have to do a bit of research on that.
If your wheel is worn, why not upgrade to a MOMO steering wheel (although you wont have airbag capabilities). Can check them out here - Steering Wheels and Hub Adapters - Pelican Parts I'll see what I can find out on the R53 and R56 wheel swap.
