I took my car to a car wash, something I rarely do, and there was no air bag light lit at that time...When I retrieved my car and started the engine, the air bag light did not go off and has been on for a couple of weeks...any suggestions? I'm assuming we are looking at the bottom side of the passenger seat in this particular photo.

Was it detailed? If the passenger seat was kneeled on. the seat mat may have been damaged (if it was worn). You'll need to check for fault codes.

Thanks...it was not detailed, just a vac and wash...I have a DRB, but I assume I will need a Mini or BMW specific tool to read those codes...the one I have pretty much works for other issues, but will not read the air bag code...

Yes, you may need a BMW specific code reader to read fault codes pertaining to the airbag light. Can try things like iCarly App or purchase a really good tool below to read codes:
Mini Cooper, Cooper S, and Clubman (R55/R56/R57) - AutoEnginuity Complete OBDII Diagnostic Tool Also, what year/model R56 do you have? Do you see any water in the interior of the vehicle? Check to make sure the sunroof isn't leaking (if yours has one) and the passenger side footwell for water intrusion. Let us know what you find out. |
