MINI Rust Warranty

See that BMW has a 12 year unlimited corrosion warranty on the Mini
Notice I have a few small rust bubbles forming on my 2006
Anyone ever make a claim on this warranty and how does it work?

Where is the rust on your '06? It's common in the hatch and door sill areas. Yes, there is an extended rust warranty for the first gen MINI's. You will want to call your local dealer and give them the last 7 digits of your vin to check your qualifications for the warranty. You will need to go in and let them view/take pictures of the problem areas. Make sure they check over every possible rust area on your MINI. I believe this information below should be useful to you.

Quote:
All new MINI Passenger Cars come with a 4-year/50,000 mile Passenger Car Limited Warranty and a 12-year/unlimited-mileage warranty against rust perforation. The 12-year/unlimited-mileage warranty against rust applies to 2004 models and newer. Earlier models have a 6-year/unlimited-mileage warranty against rust perforation. Refer to the Service and Warranty Information booklet or visit an authorized MINI Dealer for terms, conditions and limitations

I've seen those problem areas before. Definitely give your local dealer a call and follow the information I provided above. Let us know how it goes.
