My R56 cooper s is running an engine light and reduced power. Error code read 2089 air intake solenoid valve. Are you able to shed any light on this? Had previous error codes due to bad battery which led to engine light - these cleared once battery was replaced.

What year is your R56? You have 2 options for that fault:
P2089 0x2877 'A' Camshaft Position Actuator Control Circuit High (Bank1) P2089 0x2D51 VANOS intake-side solenoid valve, control-activation: Short circuit to positive More info: https://www.autocodes.com/p2089.html https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/a-camshaft-position-actuator-control-circuit-high-bank1-by-spencer-clayton As Nick said, either the Valvetronic of VANOS articles should help you diagnose the issue. Let me know what you find out and I can help you track down the part you need. |
