Hi there. I have a Mini Cooper Diesel R56 2008 and is heavily leaking. Two months ago I took my car to the Mini Dealer in Bristol because I could smell fumes coming into the cabin. I've been told that the one o-ring from the injection system the one you see in the picture is not good and that is recommended to replace them all. Job done and 2 months later I checked the oil level and the car had lost 3.5L of oil. Wend back and told them that I can see a small lake of oil in the front top of the engine, exactly where they replaced the o-ring 2 months ago see picture they said that the have to replace a gasket and an o-ring to fix the problem for the price of 167£. Took the car back and next morning I noticed oil leakage coming out from the same area all the way down the road. Now they are asking a ridiculous amount of money for labor to just open the Cylinder Head because they think that something might be wrong in there but they are not sure. they even suggested a new Cylinder Head without showing me any sign of problem, such as pressure drop or mix between oil and water or fumes and water etc. Can please anybody help?

Looks like at the minimum the valve cover is leaking. Give The Pelican Parts parts specialists a call at 1-888-280-7799. They can figure out what part or repair kit you need.

Stop going to this dealer. They don't seem to be fully diagnosing the issue and are just throwing parts at the problem. You can take your MINI to an indy shop near you using this site: Mini Cooper Repair Shops - Find a Mini Cooper Mechanic | MiniRepairShops (not sure if it does international searches, but you can try). They can do a smoke test to confirm if your valve cover is leaking. It'll be hard to have us diagnose it by just looking at a picture. However, the valve cover leak (if it's the stock one) is a common leaking point and MINI does have an updated cover. What are the last 7 digits of you vin number?
