Looks like have a leak at the front drivers corner. Looking more closely, almost looks like there's a hole in the valve cover - see attached. Is this normal? Asking since need to determine if it's just the gasket or gasket & cover replacement is needed.

That is not normal. The valve cover is damaged. Give The Pelican Parts parts specialists a call at 1-888-280-7799. They can figure out what part or repair kit you need.
