Hello, I have a 2010 mini coop base model with P0015 error code. Car has very little power and does not shift gears like it was doing in the past. Very rough transmission when picking up speed. so I got the car diagnosed and they said it was a VANOS exhaust solenoid. I noticed that in response to another driver you mentioned for that error code you need Variable Valve Timing Soleniod. Are these the same? Or can error code p0015 be multiple things?

No, the VANOS solenoid is the solenoid shown in the article you commented on. Give The Pelican Parts parts specialists a call at 1-888-280-7799. They can figure out what part or repair kit you need.

You also might want to test your camshaft sensor: MINI Cooper R56 Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement (2007-2011) | Pelican Parts DIY Maintenance Article. Could definitely be VANOS as P0015 with MINI FC code 0x2D61 is VANOS, exahust: Closed-loop control fault, position not reached. 0x2845 is 'B' camshaft position timing over-retarded (bank 1) and 0x2D60 is VANOS, exhaust: closed-loop control fault, camshaft sticks. Depending on which one you have I've seen VANOS, skipped timing, or camshaft position sensor as the culprit. Report back with your findings!
