I have a 2005 Mini Convertible. My fuel pump went out. I replaced it. Now it doesn't want to start on first attempt. And it chugs then dies. Also, sometimes it reads fuel tank is fuel or sometimes empty? And suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

have you confirmed fuel pressure is still an issue? if so, the pump connections may have been installed wrong or left loose.

Yes, go back over your install and make sure everything was properly installed. What symptoms lead you to believe your full pump was an issue?

Related to this question: I did both the filter and pump. I think I crimped something in the tank. It would be helpful to know how the hoses work between the filter and pump and how they lay in the tank. It's hard to see through either hole and I can't find a diagram anywhere. Cheers, RKL
