Figure 13 says "This photo shows the left side fuel unit with the level sender and integrated fuel filter. To replace the fuel filter, you have to replace the entire unit." Earlier steps in the article identify the left side as holding the fuel pump.
The fuel pump for my R56 2011 Mini Cooper S Hatchback, 11/2010 manufacture date looks nothing like this, and it does not appear to have an integrated fuel filter. See photo in this post of the interior chamber of the fuel pump, which is open-air rather than enclosed - doesn't look like Figure 13 at all. What's the scoop? Is the pic in Figure 13 mislabeled? Am I correct that there is no integrated fuel filter? Or do some models in the list at the top of the article my Mini is in that list have it and some not? ![]() __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: MINI Cooper R56 Fuel Filter Replacement (2007-2011) | Pelican Parts DIY Maintenance Article |

That is a typo, I will have it fixed. Should be right side.
