No, this will not be put into production, but it really gauges your interest. Sources say, "What you see above is an all electric classic Mini that is meant to evoke the past while point towards the future." They debuted this beauty at the New York Auto Show with the official release below:

With the world premiere of an extraordinary car at the New York International Auto Show (March 30 to April 8, 2018), MINI will once again demonstrate its appetite for purely electric driving with a new take on an icon.

I think it's probably very heavy...

They already did a MINI e, too. I'm not sure it was an unqualified success. I do think it's interesting, though!

Hello, Now that is an electric thing that I could almost accept, apart from grille tail lights and chrome/stainless. Regards,Michael. (I have a 1962 model. First year of production in Australia.)
