It's more likely a 20w/50 but that's a good thing. Oil discussions are about as volatile as religion and politics. However unlike some of those dreamy subjective topics there is a correct spec oil and incorrect spec oil to use for our cars...which fall under the banner of 'flat tappet engines'. Essentially you have to find ones that are high in ZDDP and have certain levels of detergents (as in not too high). It can also depend on what sort of driving you use your car for and what the general climate is. In virtually all cases in Australia a decent 20w/50 is a good choice. Low visc. synth oils may be good for current cars, but not for ours...ESPECIALLY not on the track. No matter how shiny the brochure and reps are, don't buy into it. Stick with a decent weight Dino with plenty of ZDDP and you'll be fine. After all, you'll find that the factory recommended a 20W/50 down to temps of -10c so you will be fine with this.

If I use the same oil as JET951 will I go as fast as him? He's the quickest guy around town for sure...and so modest too.

Btw if you drop into their workshop be sure to view the sagging shelf overflowing with Trophys and festooned with Awards.

Whattaguy!!
