I get along best here when I keep in mind that it's a forum of opinions.

I'm guessing that you believe that Facebook doesn't aggregate massive amounts of personal data... they just simply make billions by selling ads.

PS, I've met Gary. He's one mellow fellow. Perhaps you're projecting your issues on him.

Another member of my fan club. There are a few more that will be here shortly

I don't feel that F-You's are really appropriate here. I'm an arsehole and an arrogant prick and I certainly wouldn't say that to anyone here.

See you around

So, if I have this right, being an arsehole and an arrogant prick is ok ... but saying F-off / F-U is not?

hmmmm...

But what if someone is being a real arsehole and an arrogant prick?

I don't even really like food. All I ever wanted is a baguette and some fromage.

Goodbye, Mr. Bourdain, you will be missed.

Some of my work is in security and at least you know these devices will/are invading your privacy, it’s hard to track the ones you can’t see or don’t know about; like the cookies and analytics here on Pelican

I saw today that the Orlando airport will now REQUIRE a facial scan of every passenger going in or out of the country from the Orlando airport.

Discuss!

Of course every casino has been doing that for years.

Both, think of what is said in hotel rooms.

Imaging if you picked up a call girl named Alexa

Don’t just unplug it, put it in the refrigerator or Security safe.

Better yet, put the Woodstock album on a loop and play it for Alexa throughout your stay. I wonder what ads would then show up on your devices?

I just have never seen the need for a device to answer stupid questions, or turn on a light. I am an old school, "don't need that chit" type of person, and am one of those guys who only uses thier phone to make calls !

I think here so many would point out the stupidity that a hotel putting those in the rooms would remove them quickly.

I think they should spend the money on putting universal plugs for the chargers instead so that you dont have to broing the whole set of international plus or have to go looking for a store with fitting adapters in the middle of the night.

I just stayed at a Crown Plaza in NY. Not only did it have the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in outside of my own, but they had multiple usb connectors on the desk for charging your devices. All this for $130/night and no Alexa!

I use Siri on my motorcycle through Bluetooth

Problem is every time I ask her to play “born to be wild” she interfaces through the canbus system on my bike and I end up riding out a sudden unexpected wheelie

Some of you (LOL most of you) are highly irrational.

BTW, if I'm a bad guy talking about building bombs and blowing up people and buildings, I probably am not going to have one of these in my abode.
