Was that how he spelled his ID....I get nada on a search. So many folks come and go....usually I don't realize they haven't posted until an old thread is revived, etc.

Hopefully all is well....

He worked at the museums by Exposition Park. Met him a few times. I know he was close to retirement. I have his number, I'll text him.

What did we find out? I realized this week that he went missing when reading threads with some of you other prime LA examples.

Looking at his post history he was very active (the usual) until Late August 2019 and then nothing until a couple last posts on 11/23. This patterns gives me some hope that he is okay and just stopped posting, maybe after retiring and moving which would explain a new phone number too.

Fingers crossed.

I don't think there ever was a time where I looked at his screen name, and did not hear this song .

Hope he's o.k. Cool guy.
Its been nice seeing a few regulars who were not around for a while poking their heads back in .

Sure hope he is okay. He lives in San Pedro, maybe someone else knows him better. Isn't Milt/Zeke from close to there? Hopefully he just moved and had enough of this place. It DOES happen.

He's cool and doesn't get into it with people. I like that about him. I though he was retiring from the science center. Hope he's ok and jsut tired of our dumb asses

I seem to recall that he might have been facing some medical procedures too... best wishes!

A hiatus from this place is good for the soul .... particularly for those who've been here "forever" imo. Think my longest was over a year....

But here I are ...

Indeed, when I see this place is taking too much of my time up, I take long breaks from it. I do not do social media (deleted Zuckenbook and Twitter) I poke through a couple of forums and move on now.

If he is not on here, he is probably having a very productive life.

Yes, I'm not that far from San Pedro but I never had any personal contact with Scott. I just remember that he lived in a condo and indeed was close to retirement. I think he casually mentioned getting the hell out of SoCal when the time came.

Craigster how about sending him a PM? He might receive an email .... that's how another Pelican contacted me earlier this year when I took a break. Otherwise... he's AWOL for his own reasons imo... folks take a break or leave for all kinds of "real life" reasons and changes and he knows where we are...jmho.

....he'll be back....hopefully

Good idea on the PM. The fact that he had checked in after posting again is a good sign. My bet is he moved to OR where his wife was from and found something better to do than PPOT.

It is strange that you'd change your number though even when you move these days. Unless something happened where he needed to do a reboot in terms of people being able to contact him.

^^^ He might have had a work issued phone & number. If one of my best friends of 35+ years gets fired .... I'll have no clue how to call him .

Scott will be back .... like a moth to the flame

News of my demise has been greatly exaggerated!

Yes, retired and thus have not been online much because at work I had my computer on eight/nine hours a day and I could check in on my breaks

Am I okay? No not really.

As sometimes happens in retirement my drinking ramped up, prompting my wife to move out (and take a bunch of stuff with her) AND file for separation.

Being a mature adult I went on a bender and drank so much it literally made me sick, I went all Howard Hughs and didn't shave/shower/change my cloths for a week (I'm a shower twice a day kinda guy).

I tried to check myself into a hospital but of course couldn't get a bed because of the virus situation. So I had to detox at home... alone... (Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee) shaking, sweating and throwing up for a couple days.

Doing better but not great, trying to keep busy.

Sorry I didn't respond to texts, I'll check my profile and see if my phone number is current.

Thanks for thinking about me
