car vs golf cart/ idiot vs golf cart

so I am riding my bike yesterday and I am about 30yrds behind a GC. this truck passes me and gets right ON the GC's A$$. I mean 3-4ft behind. there are 4 people on the GC, a man and 3 women. the truck stays there for about 20seconds then passes and the guy and at least one of the women give the truck the finger.
so the truck dives back in front of the GC and slams on the brakes. yea you know it. seeing that the GC handles like, well a GC and brakes like a GC, the GC runs into the back of the truck. one of the ladies in back was waaay up in the air now she stayed on I don't know.
now the truck starts to scram and everyone starts yelling out his plate number so he stops.
the man in the GC was rather large and I thought he was going to pound the skinny old dude in the truck. the GC dude yells, why did you slam on your brakes!!. truckers reply was why did you give me the finger!!

after that I started helping the lady in front that was hurt pretty good.

I don't get it. ride someones A$$ and then get made because THEY gave you the finger.

Seems to be very thin skin for lots of folks now.

Be a jerk and then get really offended when someone calls you out on your jerk action.

Guess it is easier to blame others than accept any responsibility for your actions.

Lots, and lots of drunk/drugged drivers on the razor's edge of sanity, waiting for something to irritate them to faciltate road rage. Be careful out there !

Bingo. The trucker was an ass but giving people the finger who you don't know is beyond stupid.

They are allowed on roads posted at 25 mph or less in Ohio if they have certain safety items added (seat belts, windshield, lights, etc)

golf carts are everywhere here. not sure what the max speed limit on the road is before you CANT drive one on the road but I do believe you can only go a certain distance form your house.
of course some are faster than others. this one had an engine, not batteries.

I just don't get when someone does something to someone else and then they do something like give them the finger, what do they expect, people to just take their abuse? its like getting mad because someone punches you in the face after you punched them.

If the truck driver thought he was being unfairly inconvenienced by the golf cart moving too slowly, that could elicit an emotional response which is apparently what happened. Note that I did not say his response was appropriate, just explainable.

If the golf cart should not have been on the road or should not have been holding up traffic, then it would be annoying at a minimum and could have easily resulted in THEM getting the finger.

But cutting in front of them and hitting the brakes was just stooped and there's no excuse for that.
He's lucky the slow-pokes in the golf cart were not armed.

There are a lot of A-holes around. A similar thing happened to me on the freeway a month or more ago. I was traveling in heavy, two lane traffic going the speed limit of 70 mph. Some lady in a white minivan with one headlight out came up and started tailgating me. I didn't mover over because the traffic was heavy. She ended up passing me on the left shoulder between me & the freeway divider, whipped in front of me & jammed on her brakes twice. I had to break hard to not rear end her. After that, she floored it & left.

Just seems a bit strange to relate to as holding up traffic in a golf cart in so Cal would likely result in discharging of firearms.

So assuming the posted speed limit was either 25 or 35 mph, and assuming the golf cart in question was at least approaching the posted limit, then the A-hole in the truck was just an a-hole for no reason.

As opposed to an a-hole WITH a reason.

Think this:

Not this:

The first one has three point seat belts and proper lighting for road use. They are quite common on the roads at the shore. Not so sure how I'd feel about driving one around the streets of Philly though.

We live in different worlds.
I have a regular ole golf cart at work like the one in the lower picture, it does 13 mph. Wouldn't dream of operating it on streets.
I'm not familiar with the one in the top pic, but I don't live in a beach community either.
If they are a regular thing around those parts, it sounds like the a-hole in the pickemup needs to chill or GTFO.
