Not lessening the merits of cars so powerful.

But try to take the kids to school and go get groceries in a 919 and you will notice a real shortcoming. Both are tools for a task. One is a street car with AC and airbags, and room for passengers. And even a place to put on a license tag.

Here's an interesting, odd comparo.

I think my mind is already made up between those three without having watched the video.

I'll watch and find out if I still would pick the Viper.

I had a new neighbor move in a few months ago. He had a GT3 RS. He seems pretty young, but when we first met, he said something about his age showing because driving the 911 was sometimes a pain (the roads around here are bad). Then, after a month, the GT3 RS was gone, and in its place was a Merc AMG GT R. Another very impressive car, but a bit disappointing for me. I assumed that he'd traded the 911 in for the Merc.

Well, I have since seen both at his place and then spoke to him again. Apparently, he's still got both (Bastard!).

Here's a comparison

Exactly! While the Camaro/Mustang are undoubtedly very potent, hearing and seeing them screech and countersteer their way around a track is less than elegant, if fast.

I Wonder if a GT3RS would screech the same way on the same track?

Both fun videos...thanks for posting. Must be great to be in the megabucks set...

Since my car history involved moving from Muscle (My first new car was a '65 Pontiac GTO) to Porsche (first new Porsche a '66 912) I like both. Today? Driving has become generally a PITA. Haven't been to a track in decades. So, an old, slow, and obsolete Mustang serves well for the driving this nearly 3/4 of a century old guy does now.

Love track & test videos, but then the reality of public road driving bites..:(

(More edit) In other words, track and test videos are great for fantasizing that one is a 30's something Billionaire who can choose from his fleet of supercars for track days, then retire with one or more of his harem of bikini models before heading off to a gourmet restaurant then an evening of dancing and clubbing. As far as what is the best track car? What does it really matter?

The reality is that I'm nearing 75, my body has treated me to a couple of snapped tendons, diabetes, AFIB, age related macular degeneration in the left eye, and although no debt or real money worries, I'm far from a billionaire.

So, those of you young enough and with the means to live these fantasies, by all means go for it! In the meanwhile, Ill enjoy the fantasy...

Great video, especially with the manual transmission. My dad just bought a Camaro SS last week. A well deserved retirement present to himself. I can't wait to take it for a spin.
