Im sure it has happened to you. You casually mention something, then, an hour later, an add pops up on FB, or pelican that is perfectly related to the conversation you just had
It has happened so many times lately, I cannot write is off as coincidence any more.
Tonight, I was outside polishing up some stainless truck mirrors for my tow truck project. When I came in , and logged on to read about cousin charlie , there are now ads for metal polish popping up.
I have not searched for, or purchased any sort of polishing product in a long time .

They also know where you are, what time you wake up in the morning, what your schedule is, what your routine is, where you go and what for. It's all being recorded, tracked, maybe not monitored by people but the info is being stored somewhere. All to give you a profile so they can more accurately target ads in the hopes you start clicking on them.

At my wife's uncle's house last week I had a conversation on transmission problems. Suddenly I was getting ads for rebuild transmissions on my phone for the next three days.

Weird thing about last night, was I never mentioned polish. I got out the bottle from my shelf, and started polishing . My phone was about 20 feet away the whole time.
Yet, when I walked in, and opened up a browser, there it was adds, for aluminum polish !

Do any of you use adblock plus? It'll at least hide almost all the ads on websites. They might be listening in still, but at least you won't be pestered by these ads everywhere!
