Good Tires
Well, the last time it rained, I really noticed how old and dry the tires were on my go-to-work pickup. So, a while ago, I had the new tires put on.
Then it rained again today, and I had to say it....ha ha.. "Good tires, I mused, casually lighting a cigarette, but certainly not great tires." and yes, I kept it on the road.

So often "truck" tires don't have near the grip of a good performance tire. At least they usually have tons of tread and voids, so aren't as likely to hydroplane.

If it hasn't rained for a while, the first rain will be extra slippery.

Certainly a case of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly with tires.

Does not help that people around don't know how to drive. Did a quick errand run around dinner time yesterday. 4 multi vehicle accidents in a 10 mile radius.

I had the converse experience the other day when it was pouring here. Had put on Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ 5K miles ago. Even with torrential rains and flooding on the highway, I've never felt so safe and secure in my 94 E320. Fantastic tires for a daily driver.

Truck suspension not designed specifically with optimum roadholding in mind for the very heavy high riding vehicles that they are .Not to be compared with even a cheap car in cornering and braking capability

Recently did a 1,300 mile round trip in our new Tahoe. God damn that thing is a pleasure to drive. Frequently found myself pushing 100 in it without realizing. My older Tahoe and Yukon start getting your attention at around 80. They require concentration to drive at speed making those long hauls mentally exhausting. But over all I agree, my little Escape drives like a go kart.

BFG KO2’s on my F150 and previous 4x4’s. Never a problem but with any aggressive tread you have to stay on top of rotation schedule.
