The thread was in this forum before PARF existed. Someone replied to it, which brought it to the first page. The person who replied is not a moderator and did not have the ability to move it.

I don't see why anyone got so bent out of shape about it. Just ask the mods to move the thread.

It's much easier just to be offended.

I'm not offended....I just don't understand some folks ;). If you wanna PARF....PARF away in the cesspool that was designed for ya....that is all....or get moved there...makes no difference to me. And no...I didn't ask for it to be PARFed....didn't need to :).

As legion pointed out, that thread was pre-PARF and brought back from the dead by Fint. It's impossible to know what is still floating around in OT, but I moved it as soon as I could..

Alternatively, you could use your brain just a little, realize that a thread with that title is not something you wish to view, and not click on it. Pretty simple, if you tire of panties twisted in a knot all the time.

Or the person who resurrected it could have asked a mod to move it to it's proper venue BEFORE they brought it back to life but I guess that would have been too easy.

Claiming they did not have the power to move it was a pretty lame excuse.

Who the hell is so useless that they have time to go back and dredge up a 14 year old argument? Oh ....

It is called a reality check to compare if someone's arguments today are consistent with their past.

Frequently there are folks that form their ideas based off not the ideas themselves but rather by being against a particular group.

The exposure of the past is a chance to recognize that and re-calibrate to a more rational position.

I respond to posts in lots of old threads. Particularly in the tech section...As many currently posted on there now are actually incorrect. I see no problem responding to any thread without carbon dating it. If it was prePARF, enough folks will cry a river until it is moved. Funny that the behavior of the folks here who complain about PARF/PARFers is as bad or worse than in PARF. Most are just folks who have attempted to debate in PARF and found their arguments weak/lacking...So they are "winning" by whining. The moderator did exactly as he should and the system worked as it should and has many times before (despite the fact that some acted like whiney, potty-mouthed children). It briefly sat on the front page in OT until a mod noticed and moved it. It was in already in OT (for 14 years) before I responded to it. I did not move it or put it there. My response just moved it to the front page. Anyone (except those looking for an excuse to be offended) could have simply avoided opening or posting on the thread knowing it would be moved in an hour or two.

You're so special fint...you want to debate politics here in OT...always have, always will....it is what you do....nuthin' wrong with that. MOST folks here don't (and the powers that be seem to concur fwiw)....it's just that simple, but you simply can't restrain yourself. WTF was your motivation for reviving an ancient political thread (with most posters banned or long AWOL)...was it to prove something to the rest of us....that we already know?

I could care less whether you read my posts or not...And if the mods give me the power to move existing threads from OT to PARF, I will ensure you are not enraged except when you venture to PARF to intentionally be enraged there vice opening threads here that you should have also known would enrage you by the title.

I just told you why. I post to or post links to old threads here all the time. I remember my arguments and those of others (or my own technical posts which I know are accurate) very well (seems like yesterday). Why should I not respond to an old thread? They are still posted here (not deleted for a reason).

You are so FOS fint....you just wanted to stir up political bs here in PPOT and you know it. I am quite sure no one here had to complain for it to be moved over to PARF...go WIN your debates over there next time....then everybody wins :)

We have had a few lately and they have been gold.

Like making fun of the National Enquirer and 6 months later the story they broke turns out to be truth.

I enjoy being offended as much as the next person. So I know I can goto PARF to follow the thread if I so wish.

I think Fint is just being nice and saving you all a few clicks so you can get offended faster.

Amusement is all you can ask for. I actually get excited when Dipso posts, I know I am in for some good laughs, makes my day.

I'm betting he did a search for a topic and that thread came up, and he posted in it without really looking to see if it was in PPOT or PARF.

I know that in that 'sitch, unless I had reason to check I most likely would not have realized an old political thread was still in PPOT.

I have no problem with the mod moving as they wish...And expect them to do so. I did not expect the expect the personal attacks and name-calling by the refined files in OT...But maybe I should have.

....and that is the very reason PARF was created ten years ago....folks got tired of the bs, from both ends of political spectrum. I've yet to see anyone offended, outraged, or beotching....and this was simply a thread of THANKS and appreciation for a job well done!

Actually the worst (who apparently deleted his post) generally avoids PARF. I was surprised at the rancor...And sorta expected an apology.

It was an OT thread...For over 10 years. You were just fine with it all these years and never complained until today...Where you posted in it and complained about me posting in it. Then started a new thread about that thread. That is "special".
