So, like, what’s your opinion on the V8 American torque monster vs your 930? Honestly. Corvette fast coming out of the corners but not fast in?
I’ve had several drives with a friend of mine who has a restomod ‘69 Camaro SS.... LS 2 conversion with a 6 spd running dual 4BBl carbs. He has stupid crazy off the line acceleration. Something like 400 hp and 350 ft lb of torque. Yet I am sticking my nose up his exhaust at every corner apex. The obvious answer in my sit. Is that light weight and engineering help keep up in corners. With confidence. He’s even commented that he is so tired of seeing my headlights filling his rear views that he wishes I would just pass him. But he has a way bigger loud pedal than I do.
So what are your impressions?

The cars in question. I haven’t driven his and he hasn’t driven mine, despite fact we are close buddies. You’ve got a turbo 930, so maybe the Vette cant keep up? Would like to hear you initial evaluation.

I had a 77 L48 when I was in college, and while it was quick in its day, it was nothing compared to a 930. Case in point, a friend had an 83 928S back then and while I kept up on the straights, curves were something else. We took an S curve on the freeway at about 90 and the 928 just stuck. My Vette on the other hand was bouncing around.

I can't make a fair comparison with the vette as I just got it here yesterday and have only driven it around the block. But if I compare my 930 to some of my other American muscle cars I can safely say the 930 is better in every aspect. But my car is modified so even off the line the 930 is able to compete not to mention the handling just being far superior. I always describe the difference between muscle cars and 930's as the muscle cars power just seems to be brutal at the start where as the 930 comes on gradually and then hold on.
I will update after I get the vette out for it's first shakedown
