My 930 has a new stable mate

Picked this up at a classic car auction last weekend. 1973 small block with a 4 speed. This is my first corvette. It drives pretty good for a 70's car. Has power everything and AC. Seems to be very original with a repaint in the original color. It is a driver quality so I plan on driving it as much as possible. The 930 is a little jealous but it is still my favorite.

Congrats. Enjoy it in good health.

Congrats. Friend of mine picked up the gen just before this, I got a chance to drive it extensively and I enjoyed it very much as well... Better handling than I expected, also way more fun than in expected. Made me consider one but the wife (while very tolerant of european car hoarding) refuses to consider more additions now ;-)

Thank God it's not an automatic!

Love the colour!

CONGRATS, Mike! :p

How charitable of you...and so open minded.

Very nice! I have always liked the convertible version better than the coupe. Like the dk green and tan combo also. I do like the chrome bumper version a bit better but not a huge deal! Enjoy.

Not sure what the smog rules are in your state but here in Cali. pre-1973 is exempt from smog* so you may want to look into removing some of the smog equipment, unfortunately I think (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong ;)) but I think part of meeting the smog reg. was to lower the compression.

*If you do remove any of the smog keep if so you can go back to original if you ever sell it.
*Yes I'm a tree huger but seriously doubt the small number of per 1973 cars running around puts a dent in our air quality.

Love that bodystyle of Vette!

I believe with the lower compression motors, you can mill the heads and bring it up a bit, but as it is, you can probably run regular gas in it instead of high test.

Sweet ride, nice color combo, has the nifty little chrome bumperettes on the back too, bonus.

Thanks for the well wishes guys. A 1973 car here in NY only requires a safety inspection no smog but I plan on keeping this one stock no mods at all. I just sold my 70 Nova and that thing was a beast but also a beast to drive. This drives so nicely I just want to enjoy the ride the way it is for a while. And when I want to go fast I will just hop in the 930 which has the mods and drives great.

Really nice looking ‘Vette and still one of the good looking C3s with the good lloking rear instead of the urethane bumpers.

I bought a '69 Corvette when I was 21 years old. Same 350/4-speed tranny.
My insurance guy laughed me out of his office. After a few calls, had it insured just fine.

Great memories of a really fun car.

The only downside- Sometimes the rear tires seemed to lack traction. Never figgured out why....

Nice. Fun car. I put around 200,000 miles on a 75. Drove it to work every day and bracket raced it Saturday nights. They get great traction and that makes them good bracket racers and makes them great snow cars.:D:D:D
