Question Why was this plastic bin padded?

Found this today and wondering what it's purpose could have been?

Has to be sound deadening, right?

I can use this as a cover for an outside irrigation pump once I remove the padding, which is why I brought it home.

Maybe a piece of medical equipment that someone wanted to muff while it was running?

The padding is a 2fer Baz. Babies can roll around without getting bruised and the padding muffles their crying so the truck driver can't hear them. 100 babies crying in the back of a box truck is annoying making it difficult for the driver to focus on texting while delivering them.

It is used for sound deadening, but that was probably to protect whatever was stored in it.

I agree, you wouldn't put the regular foam over the sound deadening foam if sound deadening was primary purpose.

The other pieces of foam are meant to support a shape at particular places.

A little padding will make your chest look bigger.

Looks like a custom made helmet. I don’t want to meet the person it was made for - probably an SEC defensive tackle.

When you say you "found it" Baz, did your neighbor have a baby delivered or something?

It was used to carry a rare vase from the Png Pong Dynasty.

The guy that made it was a Ducati driver. Needed that to carry around the family jewels.

It looks a little like a miniature PARF forum.
