Who wears safety glasses all day? Which ones...

do you prefer?

It’s been a long time coming but no longer will we be allowed to work “glass free.” This concerns me because most cheap safety glasses give me a headache after a short while. I believe they aren’t optically correct. My eyes have always been my strong point. Perfect vision for more than five decades. No sunglasses ever and I’ve mostly worked outside. Yes, I put them on when grinding, welding or the like but that is not long.

Maybe I should get some zero strength prescription safety glasses?

I do not disbelieve in anything. I start from the premise that everything is true until proved false. Everything is possible.

You might check with some instructors at vocational classes (machinist, welding, autobody, etc.) which types they have opinions on.

I liked the UVEX Tomcat when worked in a machine shop. Lot of other guys started wearing them.

They are a whole $10 a pair.

I do - they supply us with several different types. I like the 3M ultra lightweight wraparound glasses. They provide good eye protection, good peripheral vision and are cheap enough to toss them after a few days.

I use standard plastic (carbonate) glasses. But I buy ones with the little reader thing in the bottom. I also only buy sunglasses with the reader in the bottom.

The 3M glasses are pretty good.

Actually, the sunglasses I prefer are rated. But they are also bi-focal.
