Congrats to her, and I hope she's able to keep to a true course. I can only speak to the board and administration at the school district where I worked at the time. I was a union rep for a few years at the school where I worked at the time. I was also involved in professional associations, caucus groups, etc. If it will be like the board I know about, she should be ready for plenty of political infighting, underhanded tactics, efforts at hiding management and money decisions and policies, etc.,etc. Also the district had a powerful Superintendent for twenty six years who controlled much of the actions of the school board, put cronies in positions of influence, hired sons and relatives into administrative positions, etc.,etc. Some of the board members had agendas and were always scheming and pushing others to go along with them. Seems to me it would be hard for someone interested in actual progress to function in that kind of atmosphere. If her mileage varies, she'll be lucky.
