going mountain biking again today.

but slowly!!

i have new body armor. a brandnew shiny absolutely bada$$ helmet. i got a good one, since my old helmet company stepped up and gave me my money back on my old one in the form of a gift certificate. i bought their flagship helmet by paying up the difference. i feel a significant breeze simply walking around in my living room while wearing it. the vents are great!!

i admit, i am a bit nervous. but i am going slowly! and my left leg did atrophy a bit wearing that brace. it is visually smaller than my other leg. probably ride around in circles because if it.

i still NEED to go over my bike carefully with a fine tooth comb to look for crash damage. i need to make sure my handlebars have zero bend.

Cliff, give us a hint. What’s the title of tomorrow’s thread describing your latest mountain biking debacle?

I wrecked my mountain bike back in college and broke my hand.

After letting it heal the first time I went back out a car ran a stop sign and nailed me.

It sucked, don't do that.

Missy Giove- mtb downhiller extraordinaire used to wrap a piranha around her neck for good luck.

Perhaps you could do the same with the pacu?

BTDT, is it the quads? If so don't overlook reconditioning the tendons.

Just bought a new MTB, and hoping to get out on some trails when it cools a bit. My endurance is severely lacking from the major health issues I have had recently (new pace maker, chemo treatments)....stay safe !

Good to see you getting back on the trails. That crash must have been a doozy to keep you down like that.

Mind sharing a pic of the new helmet?

I am in Colorado this week and doing some riding. Man, the altitude is a killer, but the riding is epic. Trying a few nice demo bikes which has been a great change of pace, and really fun.

Do you ride the same trail frequently, or can you mix it up a bit while you get back to where you want to be physically.

I went with a Kali Interceptor. It’s vented great.

Of course, Vash is a badass too, and I think you can still buy those feather stickers to embellish your pretty new lid.

Solid looking helmet. Looks to have great rear cranial coverage, which is sorely lacking in so many models. I need a new helmet, and will look into that one.

Thanks for posting.
