Another plane stolen. This time a jet, and the pilot crashes into his house, but his wife survives.

He was the corporate pilot for that Citation... so had full unquestioned access.

That's one heck of a piece of flying to angle it in as not to hit the house across the street, and land it in the front yard without even leveling the house he wanted to hit, at night.

If it was a jet, I wonder what the obviously IC engine is in the wreckage photo, (the one w the 2 FAA guys in the linked article)? It has a serpentine belt intact w A/C compressor and alternator.

If it was part of a vehicle parked in the yard, how could it have been so obliterated that it’s not visible and the engine look that good?

Crash photos fascinate me from a CSI perspective.

It's from a car, if you look directly above the engine you can see the front tire.

And the rear tire between their heads.

Ok, yep. I’m going blind. The perspective is skewed in that long lense photo but it’s the Mini Cooper(?) on its side near the curb.

Can it do a back flip? No, but they can go inverted if that is what they mean. Have they not seen the C-130 at Farnburough?

flipper35 08-14-2018 10:10 AM

Also, for those that say it is too hard to hit a building after being in a pro simulator. They all stayed upright and this guy learned on a consumer sim. (Heard X-Plane, but not sure)

That C-130 pilot had a bit more than 10 minutes of seat time.
