She was the best. Usually celebrity passings have no effect on me, but hearing the news about her hurt.

I know what my playlist will be today.

A true powerhouse, a 'diva' worthy of the term.

My wife and I spent a lot of time apart early in our marriage. This was our song and our meaning in letters and phone calls: Call Me was shorthand.

I posted a video of Think from Blues Brothers on LinkedIn. She was a legend. Wow. I don't suspect I will see that level of talent and power again.

The era when radio was king when it came to musical talent....She'd have never made it today, where appearance takes top prority...

I really loved her music and especially loved her performance in the Blues Brothers movie.

You’ll be missed, Aretha.

Alfasrule 08-16-2018 10:21 AM

I as well!! Da Queen. Last singer in the movie to die. They are all gone Cab, Johnny, James, Ray.
They picked the best for that movie.

It really is remarkable how she opened her mouth and all that greatness just rolled on out as effortlessly as breathing is to the rest of us.
