Any Great Products For Removing Oil From Concrete?
Specifically transmission fluid from my S8, which I have now dubbed Christine and should have been sold a month ago. Freshly rebuilt transmission had a leaking hose, now I have three sizable oil spots on my previously clean concrete. I've used a lot of mediocre products to remove oil, but never anything super effective. Any favorite products?

Just take some dawn dishwashing liquid and cover the stain completely. Let it sit there overnight or even longer and then wash it away with a hose. If some remains just repeat the process. I do it all the time and it has never failed to remove the oil

Fresh oil? I squirt it with brake cleaner and wipe it up with rags.

^^This. But I put kitty litter down and grind it in with my feet and let it sit there for a day or two to absorb all it can and then go in with Dawn and a stiff bristle brush to finish it up. It's always worked well for me.

Dawn huh? I didn't expect it to be that easy. That's an easy one to try, thanks!

get the clay cat litter and put on it.
then grind it in. sometimes I just stand on it and "do the twist" hope no one is watching. I also have a board I can use to grind it in. once done there is an acid you can put on it but I would only do that once the leak is fixed or you are going to paint the concrete.

When I was racing I hated for our Porsche/small engine run group to follow the Formula Fords as at least one of them would blow and engine, break an oil line, blow a transmission seal or something else to lay down a long shiny slick. At the CA Speedway they used something they called "irradiated rice hulls" that was about as fine as diatomaceous earth or moon dust! It really soaked up the oil and left the black racing surface nice and white.

My technique is to first sop up what you can w rags, then clay oil absorbant ground in w foot like others are suggesting. I use the stuff from Autozone as opposed to cat litter, seems more blended for the task(?)
Then lastly, strong detergent and hot power washer if you have one.

They use Dawn to remove oil from birds when there's an oil spill. It works well on them.
I use Oil Eater on my stains. Had a leaky diesel MB that would stain the driveway big time. Can't even tell it was ever there now.

I've used the oil dry kitty litter type stuff many times, it's only sorta effective. Guess I should have followed up with Dawn or similar.

If the spill just happened, I cover it with kitty liter to soak up as much as possible. For final cleanup, I spray the stain really well with good old-fashion Gunk. Not that new wimpy foaming stuff, but the original hard-core blend. Let it sit for 15 min. or so, then rinse off with a hose using highest pressure available. Gunk will remove older oil stains from concrete too.
