Writers love to exaggerate

The Maser sedan is NOT a $150,000 car.

I let 12 people drive my car just last night. No worries.

Agree if its a new car with 37 airbags and genius nanny controls. ;)

He came back acting all huffy at me, claiming that I should have known that the clutch only had one shift left in it and refused to pay even half of the damage. It was an extremely unpleasant experience that I will not repeat.

That is unpleasant but also unusual when the clutch takes the brunt of it and not the transmission. Maybe the clutch was weak and you dodged a bullet, especially if it was up for replacement soon.

This of course does not change the equation of letting people drive your car. Nothing good can come of it. Old 911s are tough cars but really don’t tolerate certain kinds of abuse related to shifting.

Haha, probably did the guy a favor as long as he had gap coverage on the lease for that POS. His friend helped him erase a bad decision. :)

For once, we're in agreement. I speak from experience...

May I drive your car?”
“Why yes, yes you may.”
Can I drive your car?”
“Apparently not.”

As fast as they depreciate, in 5 years that Maserati wouldn't be worth much anyway ..... ;)

Yer quick on the draw there, Sammy.
