Free Time.

The wife and kid are out of state. Grandma Clarabelle is 93. And the family is gathering around for what they all assume is her last thanksgiving.

Meanwhile I couldn’t get out of work. And have my first free time in about five years.

Suggestions?

My go to activity in Locationville this time of year is to head on down to the Place on Street Steet. That place is a blast, especially with all the things and stuff in that place. Always stop by and see My and Mrs People. They are great fun! When I am finished there, I go to the next place down the road. Have fun in that Location!

Suggestions?

Walk into a pool hall, open a cheap case, remove a Wal-Mart cue, announce to all that you are the Vermont State 9 ball champion. Then go to a table, start knocking balls around, never making more than 2-3 in a row.

Guaranteed, you'll get attention!

Or..the old standby here...hookers and blow?

This town is damn small. And my wife has spy’s everywhere.

I cleaned the hot tub. Took the dog to the beach. Now I’m eating a turkey sandwich and having a mystery science 3000 marathon. I am pathetic.

Thanksgiving is over and most of the company has left.

At my house right now:
Wife, myself, kids/friends (23, 19, 18, 18, 17, 15, 11, 5, 3, 4 months)

What is this free time you speak of?

STOP! You are doing things that no one should ever do with the cherished "free time." Play with cars, or play loud guitars.

I let him outside. He vanishes for ten hours. Comes in for five minutes, takes a dump the size of my foot. And is then gone again.

Don’t know how my wife coped.

Thought I would enjoy sleeping alone. But the cats hate each other, and require about five square feet of bed space each. And the dog is doing this new thing where he wants to sleep under the covers.

Sounds like heaven to me. Free time to me means free from other people. I guess we're both pathetic.

I usually go in one of two ways, both if I've got the time.

Inside: Order a pizza (Papajohns, The Works) and watch a bunch of movies. In fact, that's what I'm doing this weekend - re-watching Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and Ant Man and the Wasp.

Outside: My first choice, where I usually search and find a car or motorcycle show or a museum I haven't been to within a couple of hundred miles and go there without having to worry about a bored SO who insisted on coming along then demands we spend as little time as possible there.

Yeah, free time for me could mean sitting around all day letting the brain do nothing while watching a movie of some sort. I'd probably also surf the web a little bit. I may do something to/with my car (drive, look at something, clean something). I might read.

Either way, it'll probably not involve other people, just me and quiet (or as much noise as I want if I'm letting the brain do nothing while some movie show is on with explosions and such.
