Got some good news.

I may have mentioned I decided to get a storage unit to help me house some of my bikes since the number grew so quickly recently.

I started off with a 10x15...then got a second 10x15.

Long story short...today I was able to get a 20x20 with 2 doors at the same facility for the same amount as the two 10x15's.

It'll be like having a second 2 car garage.

Of course I'd love to have a shop on my property large enough to keep some of them....but for now at least they'll be protected from the elements and securely stored.

I could also use this storage unit for one of my vintage Porsches so that's nice.

Cost will be somewhere around $216/month. It's about 4 miles from my house so pretty close by.

My conclusion on this thread is that motorcycles are tools for fun. Pick the one that matches the fun you want. For me, it’s two:

1971 Snortin’ Norton for impressing the old guys at shows and Starbucks.
2023 KTM 890 Adventure R for when I want to camp and not see anyone for weeks,.

I would like others, but noe that I care to chit chat much about with those who might like it.

7 hour drive to Nashville on Friday to pick this up Saturday morning. Sold mine about a year ago and regretted it immediately. Have been looking ever since. As common as hens teeth.

This is actually the one I sold last year. No pics of the new one yet, but it’s identical.

Those are great bikes. One year only. Most of the sport classics have low miles on them. I have about 11K on mine.

Michael, have you ridden a 90s 900 SS? If so, how does this bike ride in comparison?

Hey Shaun, I've never ridden a SS. But have ridden a 996/998. You can definitely tell they are related. I imagine it would feel very similar to a SS, especially power wise. Mine is the Paul Smart so it has the ohlins suspension which is better then the suspension on the the Sport 1000. The brakes on all the sports classics are ok, they were a compromise in order to fit the spoke wheels.

But the best way to find out is to come on back to the west coast with yours and we can ride.

What a gorgeous bike that is!

I would love to come out with mine but one cross crountry trip is enough for me! I am supposed to be getting to Seattle to ride with Jeff and Jim this summer and have family and friends in Santa Barbara so I might come down your way.

What I really want to do is ship the bike to England, ride around there and France, this year too.

Lol, I get it, about riding cross country. I'll be up in Washington for a 10 day Adventure ride in July. I actually have family that lives in Seattle and Bellevue so I'm up that way quite a bit. Was just there last month. Let me know next time your heading out.

Riding in England would be great. The wife and I would love to do that trip next year.

That would be cool. I'm doing this https://ridebdr.com/wabdr/ from July 22-July 28. I'll probably trailer from my house to a friends place in Bend Oregon. We did the Oregon BDR last year, so we probably wont kill a bunch of time in Oregon at the beginning of the ride. At the end of the ride though, I may be able to swing back thru the Seattle Area. Unfortunately I'll be on the KTM, so nothing to exciting.

THat looks like an amazing adventure! I'll look into timing with Jeff, Jim and John and Mike down in Portland to see how meeting up can work.

If I were in or near Portland I'd be all over this one....holy cow.....what a beauty!

1984 HONDA VF750F INTERCEPTOR - $3,250

Very good condition for its age and priced to reflect that it is not a museum piece.
This is a good running example of a first-generation Interceptor.
The cams have been inspected and they are good.
Valves were inspected and adjusted as needed.
The carbs have been gone through.
It has new carburetor cables.
All work done by a Honda mechanic.
The tires have good tread, but they are close to aging out.
The bike comes with a new matched set of METZELER LASERTEC tires.
If I have them mounted, the price will go up.
I have a new turn signal relay on order, it will be included with the bike.
The price is firm.
If the posting is active, the bike is available.
I will not respond to, "Is it still available" inquiries.
I ride the bike once or twice a week, the miles will increase a little.
Test rides offered to buyers with cash in hand, a motorcycle endorsement and their own safety gear.

Picked up another 1st Gen Interceptor. This time it's an '84. The first two I bought were '83's.

This one started out for sale in Holly Hill (Daytona) and after a week the seller dropped the price so I made arrangements to meet him to see and possible purchase it on a Monday. Got a message from him on Sunday he had sold it. We didn't have any agreement on him holding it for me so no foul-no harm.

Couple weeks go by and the bike re-appears but now the fairings have all been re-painted White.

I contacted the seller and he said the paint job wasn't very good so he decided to repaint it...but when he put a fuel tank on it from a donor bike (a VF1000R) it didn't fit, so he decided to let it go.

It didn't have a fuel tank when it was first listed. The buyer thought his would fit. Which is why he bought it.

Anywhoo......I DO have a spare fuel tank that would fit, so no worries there. Only now the fairings have all been re-painted White, so at some point I will pick up where he left off and finish the paint job to match a factory version, since I'm a bit of a purist in that regard.

Supposedly it ran when a fuel bottle was hooked up. But for me, it's not running very well so I'm going to do a carb service and then she should be right. I'm also feeling a little resistance when I roll her so will look at the brake calipers as well. I've already replaced the battery and have it up on my lift table. Parts should arrive tomorrow so stay tuned.....no pun intended....

Photos from the original listing.....

Note the twin Kerker exhaust!

These are the re-painted fairings. The guy I bought it from paints for a living so did a nice job on them. I also got a fuel cap with matching key to the ignition and the tool kit.

It also has a Competition Werkes fender eliminator......
