People are struggling to find an explanation for this freakish unexpected event.

I'm crediting the Harvest Moon.

Some people are claiming the Lions new coach Matt Patricia, former defensive coordinator for the NE Patriots for the past 14 years just knew his former team, the opposing team like the back of his hand.

It really happened, it wasn't a dream or a nightmare.

How real will be determined next week against the Cowboys.

The old line "on any Sunday" comes to mind.

After the game on 760 AM radio on the Lions radio network the announcers went over that old adage.

They explained that on any given Sunday, any team can beat any other team in the NFL.

First of all, screw the NFL. Stupid people making stupid rules to accommodate stupid people.

Second, look at the patriot's historic record in September.
Typically a developmental month where they are trying new strategies and people.
Last year they lost two games in September and then won all the rest of the regular season games except one.

But ... this is not the same team as in the past. Depleted, broken up, may be the end of an era.

I think Patricia and his familiarity with the Pats didn't hurt. The other thing is, the announcers kept talking about how many players on Defense weren't in last night. One thing is clear, The Pats are pretty one dimensional in the passing game right now.

Maybe if the Browns can beat the Pats, the NFL will collapse.

It looked to me like the Lions were more energized than I've seen them the last few years. The ground game was actually aggressive for a change.

Plus, the defense seemed stronger.

Patricia does know the Pats and Belichek, too. I think Brady is getting tired.

It appears there is allot of parity ( or just bad teams) in the league. and Sammy is correct, the Patriots have had a great run - every dynasty has its day in the sun. Can't last forever.

I'm not that interested in football - Go Cubs!

What is this NFL of which you speak? I take a knee & change the channel whenever it's on...

Congrats to Cleveland for the tribe's victory over the red sox last night...extra innings pitching battle.

I've seen highlight clips, but haven't watched an entire quarter of an NFL game this year.

Even my college football viewing is down this year.

The Patriots, Steelers are going to have some big (figuratively, and literaly) shoes to fill when their quarterbacks are ready to be put to pasture. This should change the look ogf the NFL.

I always felt like injury of key players had more to do with how an NFL team did in a season than anything else. I think the rules in the NFL have made for relative parity between the teams. That said, I do think it is often bad coaching when a team goes winless for a season, and that the Patriots have a combination of a system and questionable practices that haven't been discovered yet that give them an advantage.

That was a good game, but what's with the "you can't tackle a football quarterback with a football tackle rule" I couldn't believe that clean, well executed tackle that every coach since peewee teaches you is not not allowed; you can't fall on the quarterback after tackling him

In the Steelers Vs Buccaneers game a Buccaneers defensive lineman fell at the feet of the Steeler quarterback. The quaterback fell forward over the defense-man's rather large hand..................the defense man received a penalty for rouging the quarterback.

Some of the calls are ridiculous.

There were however some justly called late hits on the quarterbacks.
