We currently have Dish network with a leased DVR, have had that for decades. We have a few shows we record (NCIS, Elementary) but I don't see us missing them much or something will take their place.

As far as binge watching, we get blue bloods DVD's mailed to us (and a couple others), about four episodes on a disk.

You guys are just renting. A director can re edit a film and ruin it. A liscensing dispute can get a film pulled off the net. A film can be so obscure it never appears on Netflix. A film can suddenly be declared politically incorrect and get pulled.

I worked at Warner classic in Burbank. I know what the originals looked like. I know what’s online. Not the same.
