I can't believe it, but great!
Exited Disney six months ago, took my Executive exit physical over the last few weeks.
Chest X-ray, check, EKG with serious cardio on the tread mill (I thought I was going to stumble it was so hard), check, Digital Hard up the .... exam, check (If it isn't uncomfortable, the Doc isn't doing his/her job). Blood work, lipitor which I already take. Check scrotum feel, check colonoscopy, check. eyes, nose, reflexes, check BP 120/70, OK 5', 10", and 170 lbs. Lose 5-10 lbs, OK I'll work on that.

Hey, I'm 5'10" and 174 pounds and don' t think I need to loose 5 to 10 lbs. I doubt you need to either. As far as I'm concerned, 167 is my perfect weight. If I stay below ten pounds above that, I'm OK with it. And congratulations to you - by the way. You should be good to go for a couple of decades before the next inspection and serice.

I thought it unusual, but the doctor paid me $50 for the nut feel. And he really seemed to enjoy his work

So good news, you're gonna be around for a while.
Time to check your 401K. Wanna lose the 5-10? Have a quality protein shake for breakfast, mine is a cup of crushed ice, fill in the gaps with milk, add a half a banana and a decent protein powder. And get your T levels checked. If low consider some T therapy. That can be as simple as saw palmetto and pumpkin seeds which make for a great alternative if you like to "snack" The saw palmetto and pumpkin seeds are also good for your prostate. Reduce the middle of the night bathroom runs and pee dribbling down the side of your leg from incomplete draining of the trouser snake.

170 and you need to lose 5-10? I disagree with that assessment, you would look like a scarecrow at 160.
Keep the mind and body active, don't stress, not complicated, not always easy to do. Were you worried about the physical?

How young are you?
Ever had a Cardiac CT? High Cholesterol is an issue if it's contributing to plaque buildup. In a nutshell, if your pipes are clear there may be need for the meds. I've been off statins for 6-7 years now and it took me the 3-4 years to get over the latent side effects them. Had a Cardiac CT a few years back and my score was in the "dude something else, like old age, is going to kill you long before the high cholesterol becomes an issue to lose sleep over" range. Biggest change for me, cut out the red meat. Was not even a conscious choice. Quality steak was becoming harder to find so we just stopped buying it. Replaced red meat with pork, again not deliberate, just worked out that way. My cholesterol went from 270+ to 190 in one year with no other lifestyle changes. My son had high cholesterol from pretty much day one out of the womb. Pediatrician chalked it up to hereditary based on my profile. Same result, his dropped into a normal range after we limited red meat.

More T help from pomegranate juice and cruciferous veg. Squats are supposed to help the midnight run thing.
5-10 170ish, could stand to lose a few.

Welcome to the club Hugh!
btw, I'm 5' 10" and 155. I haven't been + or - 5 lbs since high school. Never been called a scarecrow. I think good genes help.

Hugh you are doing great. As above says your weight is appropriate for your height.
A fitbit is great if you don't have one already. It tracks number of steps, pulse etc and is an incentive to get exercise. |
