Kanye West. Relly??
Can anyone explain this talentless POS's career? Did anyone see his (so-called) performance on Saturday Night Live? The woman that was with him on the other hand.:p:eek:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat3.gif

SNL is still a thing?
I do not watch network TV and yes he is a talentless hack, I have no idea who buys his "music." |
Compared to Cardi B he’s Freddy Mercury...
|
I like Kanye, he's actually a damned good rapper and has pushed the boundaries of the style for quite some time. He's not just popular for the hell of it...
Jay-Z kicks ass as well. SNL kicks ass when they put enough effort in, for one or two skits. The quality of skit is directly related to how stupid The Hill has been during the last week. The Hill was pretty damned stupid last week, so the SNL opener was good. Oh, wait, I forgot...this forum is still basically run by grumpy old white dudes. |
I saw that SNL set. Horrible. Flat audio.

I didn't see the second set, the actual song, but the first set had me giggling like a school girl. He does enjoy crapping on SNL (not the first time he's done it) |

Jay Z and Kanye have talent? I guess I just do not get it, I prefer artists like Joe Bonomassa or Joe Walker. Check out Sharon Jones, Johnny Rawls or Black Joe Lewis. That crap JZ and Kanye throw out there is just that crap. Check out some real music some time. - stoopid white guy <iframe width="1252" height="704" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/oJ-M_8pY6TI" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Stop making stupid people famous.

But Jay Z and Kanye are fantastic. Kanye has obvious issues getting along in society, a bit tortured. But he is an amazing artist and if we expect artists to be in lockstep with civilized society then the problem is not with Kanye. |
Kanye definitely knows how to keep himself in the media cycle.
I don’t like the music, but he’s doing -that music- at a high level. Sort of how I don’t want to listen to Die Antwoord either but I know it’s amazing art. |
Rap Music is the pure definition of an oxy-moron. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/lol2.gif

His best work to date
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/32s1zi4SwaE" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> I find it easier for me to classify it as an art form , rather than music |

But what I don't get is how I trained musician, such as yourself, can look at any of that and have anything good to say about it. I couldn't stand to listen to more than a few seconds of a Die Antwoord "song" and I would consider anybody that enjoys their music to either be mentally defective or socially undesirable. I think Kanye's music sucks, I think his life has been the world's longest train wreck and I really can't forgive him for some of the stupid **** he's done. As an occasional fine art painter, I do appreciate art, but I'm not of the opinion that everything is art. Some of it is just crap. |
Listening to good music is like eating a candy bar: the first thing you do is get rid of the rapper.
|
Old white guy here as well, but I do dig some hip hop, and rap artists. Kayne is just not one of them
|
You can't have CRAP without rap...
|
The thing about NOT being a fan; i think the idea is to ignore them and not comment. Why even waste the energy?
Somebody likes him. And to each their own. Me? I can’t name one rap. |
I did disagree with James Bond on one thing...
