Was there ever an actor...
more fitted to a role than Robert Newton, arrhhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1538698638.jpg

Kevin Kline, Pirates of Penzance. Okay, that was a play.
|
Probably the most unlikely was Dustin Hoffman in The Graduate. Who would have thought such a dorky looking guy could play that role? I think the part was written for Troy Donahue or some blonde surfer looking dude. Hoffman killed in that role. One of the best movies ever.

My MIL had a small part in a local community theater, they did Young Frankenstein. The guy playing Igor (his first ever play) must have watched that movie 100X because he nailed the part, I was dying laughing, he stole the show. |

Salma Hayek - From Dusk Till Dawn :)

Well, I would have to pull up some of the silent era actors and films to answer that question.
When you had actor/directors then the parts were made for the actors, and the actors for the parts. ;) |
Peter Sellers in “Being There”

That Barney Rubble, what an actor.... Love Being There. One of my favorite movies too! It has been years since I watched Lawrence of Arabia. Reading Lawrence in Arabia right now so I should give the movie another viewing. |
+1 on Peter Sellers - Being There
How about George Burns - Hey God! Zero Mostel & Gene Wilder - The Producers Topol - Fiddler On The Roof Gene Hackman - Enemy of the State Arnold - Terminator and just for some humor Pamela Anderson - Baywatch (slow motion running on the beach scenes) |

Keith Mcready in "color of money", playing the role of a money player with the character name of "Grady Seasons". Seasons..mentioned by Paul Newman, saying he was the top mpney player. Thing is, McCready really was a top money player hired for the movie. Handed the script, he read the lines, informed director Scorcese (sp?) that no money player would say that. So, he was asked what he'd say...
Hell, he shoulda-woulda-coulda been a character actor. Would have paid much better than the wild lifestyle he was leading at the time. Anyway..just a 14 second clip, but he did make it real: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IUXEWVH9BQ |

Ahh, yes, Harold Lloyd certainly comes to mind. Timeless stuff. |
Lon Chaney Sr, again in most of his roles
Seriously though, Mr Feldman and Mr Wilder are both pretty strong. |

He's also got that going in his role of Boss Spearman in "Open Range," one of my favorite westerns. If you've never seen it, be sure to do so... and be prepared to be knocked over by Annette Bening's performance, too... nothing flashy, just a good, solid, real deal performance that kinda sneaks up on you. |
