I’ve got my ducks in a row

These are some old duck decoys from 1941. They have seen better days, but a couple are ok. I haven’t cleaned them up, not sure what they are made of. Definatly not plastic. The bases are wood, not sure of the rest.

Back in my days as a traveling sales rep I was hot footing it from one customer to the next. As I was transferring from 110 north to 405 South I came around the interchange to find 24 ducks all over the road! Damn decoys don't take flight no matter how loud your 2002 Silverado's horn is.

Pretty cool old decoys. I have three hand carved ones on my mantle. They're not super special, but I like them. In the mid 70s where I worked there was a guy who carved them. I admired them but never asked about buying any, which I regret. They were the most beautiful carved ducks I've ever seen. You could see the individual filaments on the feathers and the colors were fantastic.

Paper mache Carrylite decoys. I believe called ‘durabeak’. The shorter billed are either broken or are coot decoys.
