				Brake fluid sprayed on paint today.
			 
			
			I hadn't used my Motive pressure bleeder in a few years.  When I pressurized it today, the line sprung leaks everywhere and fluid sprayed all over Mrs. Lee's X1's left front fender and some onto my bike.  I stopped the spraying, threw paper towels everywhere and then poured bottled water over everything, then sprayed with citrus degreaser.  I don't see any streaks or stains and this was all overwith in minutes.  How screwed am I?

			You might be fine. I’ve spilled a little brake fluid on paint with no problems in the past.  
		
	
		
	
			
			
		
		
		
		
		
			I always fill just the brake reservoir and keep air only in the Motive tank. You have to keep your eye on the reservoir but it is much easier (I feel) with much easier clean up.

The last time I went to use it, the tube nearly disintegrated in my hand before I even had a chance to attach/pressurize. I am thinking it's either crap-quality tubing, the AZ heat, or a combo of both. YMMV...  |

			If you rinsed it right away w water, should be good to go.Brake fluid is nasty stuff on paint but the good news is that water dissipates it pretty completely. Well, I'm Porsche-less, my 330xi wagon will be sold or traded the day before the warranty expires and I doubt Mrs. Lee will keep her X1 long enough for me to have to do this again.
