Bye, bye Broccoli
I miss you already, but as I get older my body no longer wants you as much as I do. And so I have to let you go.
Be free my long time Chinese takeaway side. Take care my caserol buddy So long, my raw veggie dip friend I used to love you, but I had to leave you. RIP little green gem. |
Huh?
Personal, medical, or environmental ??? Did I miss an e coli scare ? Bill K |

I think it has more to do w methane production and carbon emissions. Could be wrong.
|
Broccoli was never my friend, neither were brussell sprouts !
|
New California law states you are limited to broccoli consumption due to CARB restrictions. By 2025 broccoli will only be consumed as a part of Thanksgiving casserole

I still hate brussel sprouts. To me, they are just tiny cabbages, and I hate cabbage.
|
Just like i hate Brussels itself , i hate Brussels sprouts.
I only go there or eat them if I get payed to do so, and payed well. People all got antsy when Trump said it's a ****hole, to be honest, that's probably one of the few things he said that are factual and true. |
To Speeder's point...

I completely agree about Brussels, dislike it strongly.
The sprouts are yummy but I need a ten foot perimeter around me after for others safety.... |
I like broccoli more than I like many of the people who would be O'ffended by the result ;)

Broccoli is not my fav but I truly detest its pigment challenged cousin cauliflower

I’m like broccoli. I same today’s version is a genetic ghosts of the original. It’s so sweet. Chinese broccoli is bitter by comparison.
Brussels are prob closer to the original version no? I love them as well; once I learned how to cook them. I hate one veg. Lima beans. But I’ve only eaten crappy frozen ones. |
My favo-rite dinner veggies besides sweet corn on the cob.
This right here is good stuff. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1540927861.jpg |
There are several veggies and fruits I used to enjoy, but I'm unsure if I changed, or what is in the store changed.
Broccoli is one of them. I also find it difficult to obtain good tasting peaches, plums, and apricots. |
Hard t know what should be in green in this thread.

I’m actually good friends w the Broccoli family. They are the descendants of the Italian farmer who first brought it to America.
That’s the way I remember the story, anyhow. Don’t shoot me if I’m wrong. :) |

Broccoli is one of my favs. I don't like peas - English are the worst!

My Doc says it is good for your prostate.

I also find it difficult to obtain good tasting peaches, plums, and apricots.[/QUOTE] You have to go to the farm. None of them travel well. They are always picked green and shipped while hard as rocks. Somewhere along the way they “ripen.” Pluck a warm peach off the sunny side of the tree and mush into it (you can’t bite a ripe peach, it’s too soft). Just slurp it in, let the juice run down your chin, and you have tasted heaven. Use pretty much the same method to enjoy plums and apricots. |

I stopped in a little hole in the wall restaurant with 5 or 6 tables. I had a great lunch of white asparagus in butter with a boiled egg, some fantastic fresh bread, and a bottle of cheap white wine. The owner came out and asked me how I liked it. She told me something about how it was some Belgian traditional food - in her Texas accent. She had spent 30 years or so cooking in Texas, said she was on the Bush family domestic staff for a while. Nice lady. Great lunch. |

I love broccoli! However, too much is bad for people with arthritis.
