Cheap beer... What's your favorite?

I like a full range of beer (Pilsner, hefe, IPA)however, the cheap American beer I haven't had since the days where I couldn't buy it myself.
What is your go to beer?

P.S. If anyone says Kirkland brand, you will be taken out back and flogged.

My favorite brand in college! Is Busch still around....that's what AB pickled our livers with back then.

Always a case of Bud Light in the fridge...I don't drink much else as far as beer goes.

I used to drink this swill in high school.

Miller Lite.

In a slight twist to this thread, some of the cheapest beer we used to drink in college:

Carling's Black Label ($2 a six pack in 1985)
Schaefer
Wiedeman
Red, White and Blue

When in college I drank Robin Hood ale. It was fairly cheap as I recall. There was a beer called Goebels that was really cheap, but it was watery like Bud, Miller, etc. I only bought it in emergencies.

Edit:
I looked it up on Untappd. Robin Hood was made by the Pittsburgh Brewing Co. Described as, “No longer being produced, one of a myriad of cheap beers from the 70s”.
Goebels was made by Stroh’s. They say it was $4.44 a case.

Had 'em....but the worst ever was "Silver"....'bout a $1/sixpack in '79. My dormmate & I drank a few sips each....poured the rest of the pack away...a criminal offense back then :).

Is "Iron City" taboo in Philly because it sux or the source...I played da fool once and asked for some in a bar, for a friend...some friend :(

Miller Lite is my go to water beer. Ice cold it hits the spot when it’s 100 and I just finished mowing the yard. Also throw in some Michelin Ultra when I’m feeling fat.;)

Miller Lite. The CVS pharmacy by my house has had it on sale for the last 18 years I've been shopping there. It must work because I'm sure I buy more other stuff than I would if not going for beer.

We would put the Carling's in the freezer for a while to make it drinkable. SmileWavy

We called them "Black disablers".
Coors light is the lawnmower beer of choice right now.

Bud Light
Coors Banquet
Cold Snack by Montucky

Back in college it was Milwaukee’s Best or Meister Brau

MBAtarga 11-01-2018 04:41 AM

What does Coor's beer and making love in a canoe have in common?

They are both F'ing close to water!

THE BEAST! Milwakee's Best . Used to get it for $3.50 a case , and it came with a dollar off cupon for the next case attached
I used to smuggle it into our dorm via guitar cases . I was da man for a while . Our room was always well stocked . ( I failed that semester )
I finally got caught in a dramatic chase . It was a bout a 45 minute foot chase with campus security . They put me in the campus slammer, and called my dad at 2:00 in the morning to come get me. I ran those fat bastards all over the place, before they simply outnumbered , and cornered me .
It has an awful taste, but as soon as it hits my lips, it takes me right back to those days .

Schaefer Light 30 yrs ago in college. If I could find it in a store nowadays I would buy it for old times sake. I mainly drink vodka now.

I have tried to locate Schaefer Light in the past to share with the old college gang on the rare occasion that we get together. Has anyone here seen Schaefer light in there locale? If so, I would pay dearly to have a 12 pack shipped to me. It has become like the Holy Grail to my old college buddies. Doing a group shotgun with Schaefer Light before the first run of our annual ski trip would be the ultimate trip down memory lane. :D

Oh man, I put away a lot of the beast back in high school in the 1990s. I think it was $8 or $9 for a 30 pack, that was a solid weekend worth of beer for less than $10. I used to have a cooler in my trunk to keep it nice and cold so you could barely taste it.:D Also guaranteed beer sch!ts the next day.
