Miller Genuine Draft. Haven't had it in ages, may find some now. Had a Bud the other night with nachos. It really sucked.

In a slight twist to this thread, some of the cheapest beer we used to drink in college:

Wiedeman........

1980-ish. $2.35 per eight pack of glass bottles. I remember the price because I grabbed a couple from my Dad's stash (price sticker on eight pack) and even then, I thought, Damn, that's cheap.

Busch
When I'm run out of my home brew and I'm "slumming" I normally drink Sam Adams Boston Lager

widebody911 11-01-2018 05:24 AM

I'd rather just drink water than put up with 5hitty beer.

I am shocked nobody said Olympia. Not bad for cheap beer.

In Portland? PBR is a go-to. Just ask a hipster.

I keep Bud Light for cheap beer. I love the good stuff, but I just can’t see spending 25 bucks per six pack. I keep some of the good stuff in the fridge and indulge with s good steak or if a buddy comes over I offer the good stuff.

Hudepulh, POC, Stroh's, Rolling Rock

My beer of last resort is Coors (when it is hot and you just want to chug an ice cold beer) drank gallons of it as a yout.

Widmer Hefeweizen was my bar beer if they have it.

My hangout now is a Mexican restaurant so now Modelo Negro.

Now that my metabolism is slowing down and my belly is expanding I don't keep beer at home anymore. :(

My construction worker neighbors drink Busch Natural light by the case, it must be cheap because they are not very deserting (but a great bunch of guys). If I pop over to the garage to watch a game as soon as I step foot into the garage a can of natty lite gets tossed at my head. :D

Used to be Old Style. When I moved away from Chicago, it became High Life. Now, Lone Star.

In college we drank whatever was around, but often it was Shafer or Reinelander? I think that's what it was. Flats of Reinelander Bock for $5, and each flat got you $1.25 back for returning the bottles. So, the 4 guys in our house would buy 4 flats on Friday night from the local store (walking distance down the block), then return the 4 empty flats on Sunday in return for flat #5! :D

This thread has me thinking I should go grab some Little Kings

id911T 11-01-2018 07:19 AM

Cheap go-to for me is Rainier

vash 11-01-2018 07:38 AM

elk hunting.

15 days. hot days, cold nights.

i flew in, so my brother was on beer duty. he got Miller Lite.

it was crazy good after a long day of hiking.

Labatt Blue - But I am mildly annoyed that in the southern states we don't get the same brew as Canada / Upstate NY.

My Grandfather drank Oly, Ranier and Buckhorn. Clint Eastwood drank a lot of Oly, you see it in some of his earlier movies.

I don't think Buckhorn is around anymore, we can't get Oly or Ranier here in California. My go to is Coors Banquet, as a teen we drank Lucky Lager with the puzzle under the bottle cap and Brew 102 if we really wanted to feel like shyte the next day.

Yueng's

I think the question is what is, not what was your favorite cheap beer.

Life is too short to drink bad beer.

interesting. oddly enough, i had my first Yuenglings on that elk hunt.

a buddy drove out from florida and had a case. i volunteered a beer of his for science. it is kinda sweet for me, but very good. i have zero idea what a case cost or if it is indeed cheap beer. no so sure i could tolerate the sweetness a few beers in.

Tobra 11-01-2018 08:41 AM

Coors banquet is far and away the best mass produced beer. German cousins tell me it is no contest, I agree.

Schaeffer is plywood aged though, so there is that.

bleucamaro 11-01-2018 09:18 AM

Coors Light (Affectionately called: C-minus)
Tecate
Bud light lime

Oly is hard to find in stores, but the dive bars always have it.
and I'll drink PBR if someone hands me one

Working in Milwaukee all the bars had Miller (rumored to be piped into the bars from the brewery ;))

Not a big Miller fan but most bars also had Yueng so that was my go to in Milwaukee.
