I really did hate living in Boston. Having moved there from the midwest, it was a shock. People were such surly a-holes. And there are the taxes. And the byzantine governmental BS. Trying to simply register a car...holy hell.
That was all 20 years ago. Perhaps things have changed.

Barretta or Island? They both seem pretty angry.

My son lives near Boston and commutes into the city every day. He loves it. I wouldn’t last a week.

I lived in Boston, nice quiet, one way street, parking on both sides. When I moved to Chicago, I rented a UHaul and had it out front which essentially blocked the entire street with cars parked on both sides. To our credit, we brought everything downstairs first, then got the truck. Cars would come down the street seeing the Uhaul the whole way with us packing it up, also easy to see that cars lined the sides the whole way. They would come all the way down and then just start honking. We'd go over to the car and explain and they'd say move it, in colorful language. Happened 3 times, we moved the truck each time and drove around the block. Police were called by someone and they came and gave us a ticket but were really nice. Said htey have to give it to us but "fuch the aholes" don't move the truck and said they won't be back if someone else calls. That was cool. So we drive to Chicago. Get there and it's raining. We start to unload the truck. While it's raining, neighbors whom we've never met come out and help unload the truck. That's the Midwest vs. Boston. One good thing though is the Registry is amazing. I buy and sell a lot of cars. Quick, easy, great people there, very helpful. That has changed. Taxes, MA is mid-pack in the states for taxes. Quality of life is one of the real shining points in the Boston area. MA as a state is #1 in the country for education and ranked extremely high in the entire world. Food is fantastic. River is great for kayaking. And close to NH for excellent hiking. All in all, Boston is a great place to live. But like anywhere, it has it's drawbacks. Went to a Mass. Cheese Festival yesterday which had all local artisan (hate teh word but really applies here) cheese and cured meat and bread makers. fantastic day, got some amazing creamy blue cheese. Just a great place to be.

wdfifteen... so judgmental. Why can't you just let people be who they are?
![]() Seriously, you libiots champion direct speech until it's something you don't want to hear. THEN it becomes "ANGER!" Just saying, you drones are ridiculous. #direct-speak ![]()

Question, do you still believe in the boogie man? Of course you do.

I will say this about the OP commercial spot; it essentially tries to sell the idea that being a region-specific ass hole is cool, but if you don't agree with the push of the commercial, THEN you are a non-region-specific ass hole ...and therefore out of the fold, and not cool.
IOW, they are pushing for policy change with out any examination of issues. They simply push a virtue-signaling inclusion/exclusion message. ..which is always a good sign that they are running a con. Good luck with that, Mass holes.

And yet some groups DEMAND that they are allowed to wear their sexual bend on their sleeves (so to speak.) And, of course, such an allowance for trans or gay, or even straight who want you to know about their fluffy fetish... would be a special right.

I wouldn’t try to change you. I always know what to expect from you, so I don’t miss anything when I skip over your posts. You are so predictable I could almost write them for you.

Northeasterners can be passive aggressive in their own way, like when Bostonians- complete strangers - call me their friend. It usually accompanies a threat. “I’m going to warn you one time and one time only my fren,”

No, NYC is the greatest. Brooklyn is greater. Boston just rocks with such a high quality of life, at least for me anyway.
