Verdict is in. Great film.

I could have cut a few scenes, could've spent more time on their early developing years in school, but overall this is it.

One of my favorite songs is "I'm in love with my car, fittingly on a car forum. I was surprised how much flack the band gave Roger over his song. I was disappointed they didn't play it.

Freddy was a private guy who was disgusted at the press for prying into his lifestyle choice, and he was incensed the press refused to inquire about the new album. Identity politics budding.

I loved seeing the development of the band, their rise and their fall (Freddy). A classic story of the ages.

I liked that Freddy found the gay lifestyle scene unfulfilling and empty, ultimately rejecting its more lascivious side, and his conflicted hurt feelings that Mary was pregnant.

There's no redemption after the fall. Freddy is quite dead. And not that there's a moral lesson here, but play stupid games win stupid prizes comes to mind, aids et al. The wages of sin is death, etc.

It’s a fun film and a great night out. I saw queen live in 1980. Enjoyed the movie too.

I knew it would not be a top-notch movie, and it wasn't. Chronologically incorrect, etc. But I'm very glad I saw it. It was good. Rami Malek did a good job. It put me back inside Mr. Mercury's head for a time. I was in high school when Queen 1, Queen 2 and Sheer Heart Attack were released. Definitely recommend, certainly for any Queen fan.

Great review...not much I can add. Yes, had hoped we’d hear “Im in love with my car” especially after the discussion around it. And admittedly, I was hoping to see them perform Dragon Attack...one of my favs. Bottom line, the performance scenes were amazing, I’d have welcomed more of them. The Live-Aid footage was incredible.

Mike Meyers as the record producer who said teens would never shake their heads to Bohemian Rhapsody was priceless.

Never really understood the nuance between he and Mary, the movie helped clarify. I heard he left his entire fortune to her. Don’t know if true and the film didn’t mention it.

Wife and I enjoyed the movie. I appreciate them more now than when they were current.

My only complaint is seeing the trailer for Rocketman. Now my wife wants to see that movie.

My 12 year old son is a classic rocker and loves Queen. I was skeptical about taking him to see the movie knowing the movie would show some of Freddy's life style.

Given they kept the movie PG13 we went for it. Although they did allude to Freddy's lifestyle they didn't splash it all over all the time.

We both really enjoyed the film. I think its worth seeing if you're a movie goer. These days I am not so inclined to go to the movies, rude people, especially with cell phones are everywhere. I am perplexed by the amount of talk, text, posting etc etc going on at the movies. I also don't care for the way people feel like its okay to shout their opinions or anything else for that matter while the movie is playing.

Having been in high school during the late 70's and very early 80's I was a Queen fan and a huge concert goer. I never saw Queen. I came away feeling like I missed a good show not having ever seen them.

My son and I have seen the Who, Bruce, Lenny Kravitz and we're looking forward to seeing the Stones this spring. I am a total Dead Head and I am happy my son is starting to come around on the Dead. I'd like to take him to see Dead and Co this spring too.

+1 loved it too, wife and kids too, though we had to have a conversation about what AIDS was after... in a way it is shocking that my kids had no idea what Aids was, and it killed so many people, too bad research could not save Freddie in time...

The creation of "we will rock you" was a goosebumps moment...

This film is the perfect illustration as to how most movie critics are half rate hacks who try and sound smart by dissing films. It was a fun bio pic. It wasn't' meant to be a 100% historical accurate portrait of the man, the band or the time line. It was a fun tribute to all of the above. It's not the best film to have come out this year, but it is possibly the most fun. Rami Malek simply owned Freddy's character. He duplication of his mannerisms, look and personality was simply amazing. I have yet to meet anyone from 12 to 80 who didn't love it. Easily one of the most enjoyable movie experiences in years. Will probably catch it on the big screen again before it comes out on DVD/Streaming.

Actually paid to see it on the loud big screen.

I almost broke down several times.

Amazing back story of a the band.

Same here. The wife and I had been looking forward to this one being released -- I can't recall any other recent movie I can say that about . . . .

We went with one of our kids who is now 27 and her husband. We all enjoyed it greatly. I graduated high school in 1981 so right at the height of their power. The kids obviously didn't grow up with them or the music like we did but loved the film all the same which says a lot about the story and how it was told.

One of my friends saw it today. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1543277695.jpg

Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' has become the most streamed song from the 20th century

He made some gifts to people in his life, like Peter Freestone who was his cook and a few others but Mary who he was living with when the band started out together got the bulk of his fortune (house, money, personal items and his income from his music). If I remember correctly it was about $50 million pounds at the time and probably is a couple hundred million now.

As to the Live Aid concert all those scenes were recreated with actors filling in for the people on stage. I don't believe they used any footage from the actual concert. They probably would have to pay for it if they did. How I know this? My buddy who was there was not in the film. :)

MrsWD and I watched it on Amazon tonight. I actually slept through about 20 minutes of it. There are much more entertaining and historically accurate videos on YouTube. Glad we didn’t waste time and $$ seeing it in a theater.

Chocaholic 03-06-2019 03:47 AM

I’ve seen it 3 times. Once in the theater and twice on airplanes. Not sure what it is about rock band movies...remember The Doors with Val Kilmer?...perhaps because music, stereo equipment, etc, were the video games of my youth. I love the band and recording/music scenes...not so much about the drama. But pick up more detail each time. I thought it was worth seeing in the theater for the sound and footage of Wembly on a giant screen.

LWJ 03-06-2019 04:23 AM

Wife and I saw it on an airplane. Loved it! Perfect distraction.

72doug2,2S 03-06-2019 06:08 AM

I think it depends if you're into music, whether this band was part of your life, and if you like rock and roll. For those in the know, this was excellent.

wdfifteen 03-06-2019 06:42 AM

You'll enjoy these if you haven't seen them.
