Some assembly required

I must know more about this and I have not been able to successfully google my way there - I know you guys can help

When you buy something in a box that needs to be assembled. Often nowadays if there’s a bag of accessory hardware it’ll be tethered to the box, presumably so you don’t throw it away and angrily call the manufacturer claiming a shipping error. What is this called? The tether, the practice, or the dude who thinks of stuff like this?

I’m envisioning there’s a packaging engineering hall of fame somewhere where this is honored alongside foam peanuts and bubble wrap.

Maybe the pucker box, because most folks pucker when they see all of the crap in it?

I bought a large roll-away tool box a few years back and couldn't find the hardware package. I did not throw anything away and scoured every bit looking for the hardware.

Wend back to the store and they said call the manufacturer.
I called them and after being on hold for way too long, was told to look under the largest part.
They had taped the hardware package to the bottom of the bottom section of the roll-away.

Understand this thing was over 4 feet wide and tall and was heavy enough to use a forklift to load it into my truck.
Too big to turn over to tip up or even see the bottom where the package was. Just had to feel under there and peel it away blindly.

Dumb.

I first read that and mistook it for colostomy bag.
