youtube sometimes has some interesting suggestions. While the in car footage is not up to today's standards, the intro with all of the drivers of the day is worth a look

one more. Note the hay bails and the description of the course at the outset of the film. Narrator notes at Stavelot there is a ditch to catch the cars should they miss the turn. When men were men and serious danger as a passenger.

I've watched the Spa footage now a couple of times. I am stunned by the nonchalantness of the whole affair, the just leisurely way everyone went about their task. The idea that these drivers were really risking their lives seemed either very far from everyone's thoughts or just being ignored. I ran DE for PCA and we would never have left some of the safety issues happen the way they did in that video. God bless those that lost their lives and it is clear how lucky or skilled the survivors are. At Rennsport I got to see Johcen Rindt.

I enjoyed that second video immensely. Yep, very VERY different times.

Spa is at the top of my bucket list to attend one day. Something just says this is how racing should be; out in some open space, up/down hills surrounded by trees. Would have been frightening back in the day with our modern sensibilities though it must have been epic to be so close to the sights/sounds/smells.
